Our iconic big air kite has been completely re-designed this year. After long considerations on how to achieve an even lighter, faster, more powerful yet easy to be de-powered and stable kite, our design team has come across with a very simple yet very refined design concept. Taking out 2 struts from the previous versions and making the Obsession a full 3 struts kite has been the base of this new concept. The foil profile has been changed, achieving a new kite that floats better in the air and brings a more direct type of feeling on the bar. Thanks to a new profile and a tighter leech tension we have achieved better hangtime, more stability of profile and a greater range of use. Today the Obsession MK8 in sizes 10,5 and smaller can also be used as a Wave Kite, combining the freedom of improved maneuverability with an immediate effective depower-ability in any winds. What seemed impossible is now the new Obsession MK8

Program: Freestyle/big Air/FreerideThe Obsession is our iconic kite that embodies power/de-power ability/ fast turning speed and huge hangtime, all in one package. It’s been our best selling kite since day one from it’s introduction, manily for its versatile range of use and its real fun, spontaneously sportive feeling in your hands thanks to a light bar feel and a very quick response to the bar inputs. It jumps great, keeping you in the air longer than you could expect, and still keeps its easy depower feel when a stronger wind gust hits the kite. This is why the Obsession is also highly appreciated by riders who use strapless surfboards to do freestyle tricks or jumps on flat water. Its special wide range of use behaviour comes from a moderate aspect ratio and swept back tips design, creating a very constant amount of power even in very gusty winds. Its “Sheet-and-go” power delivery makes it also a perfect light wind machine, with great freeride performance potential, reaching top speed runs and great upwind legs.This year we have slightly changed the foil profile of the Obsession and made it a bit flatter throughout the tip area, enabling the kite to be turning faster and also be more efficient to flying into the wind window. Every panel of any inflatable structure, from the struts to the leading edge, is built with a special heavy duty stitching system. The stitching areas are internally reinforced with a stripe of adhesive dacron, creating a solid base for durability. All the exposed areas, like tip ends and leading edge seams that are subject to abrasion, are reinforced with a woven Kevlar/ PU fabric to prevent wearout. Our single pump inflating system tube is covered with a soft PVC protection to prevent possible damage from plastic parts while folding the kite, and the inflating tubes are fixed to the kite through a neoprene sock, locked into place with velcro.A dacron leech reinforcement progressively wider from the center strut towards the tips, follows the fatigue line, being higher on the tips, and also reduces potential fluttering after long time use. The triangle tip ends for the attachment points of the back lines spread their load avoiding tip distortion, keeping the right bar presence feel and increasing the lifetime of the kite. All the bridle attachment points are reinforced with a soft PVC external protection and and internal double adhesive dacron patch, to increase durability. The new bridle pulleys are now fully made with marine grade stainless steel and can each stand a load of 400 Kgs. The Obsession MKVII offers an unsurpassed level of performance in the largest variety of use.

The Obsession PRO MKII is our new pure blooded freestyle kite.

It’s been designed and developed with precise input from our freestyle pro team to get them exactely what they need.No compromise on the type of shape: a pure, very fine tuned C-shape kite equipped with 5 lines, to be precise, powerful or very neutral when you need it. Now that freestyle has reached incredible levels of performance you need a kite that not only delivers this on/off feedback to the bar , but also an incredibly increased staibility of the kite itself in the air. Very thin shaped struts to minimize weight, and thin leading edge diameter has allowed the save about 300 grams of weight when comparing to the previous MKI kite,making the kite even more stable than before.

The Obsession PRO is designed with a very high aspect ratio C-shape, that helps creating the perfect de-power rope length: infact the whole power range of the kite is within 15-20 cms from you chicken loop enabling you to have the perfect power control without the need of moving your arms forward. Also when using the kite fully powered up, you can easily un-hook and get a very neutral feel with it when keeping the kite in the same spot. The super squared tip design helps increasing the turning speed when needed and creates a very precise, predictable behaviour in the air. You always know where the kite is without the need of high bar pressure. The new super short Obsession Pro bar is 7 cms shorter than our Global bar and is now 48 cms in total width. It comes equipped with 20 mts flying lines only.

The MKVII is a new re-designed, refined version of the Passion MKVI. The Leading edge arch has been re-tuned and developed around the middle size 11, an aspect ratio that has pleased any riders’level in a large variety of conditions.

This in combination of a shorter leading edge overall length, has reached and mix of perfect compromise of power handling and stability. The foil shape has been sligtly increased, but we have kept the same LE thickness in the center area, making it an very stiff, very stable support for the whole canopy material. Slightly faster in turning speed, a perfect presence of bar pressure.
Sizes 17 and 15 are specifically designed for super light wind and reduced in weigh in any details.

The special 3 sqmt version for beginners is also a new design, simplified to the core, with only two struts and a great low end power and stability for newcomers. A must for all kite schools. A small kite that flies well with light wind.

We started making wave specialist kites in 2004, with the introduction of our Type Wave. Since then, every year we have always developed a specific wave kite in our range. Riding waves requires proper timing, and a specific kite which helps you improve your ride. This is the key to get more stoked on the water. Nothing beats the feeling of riding a wave, and nothing is easier than learning how to ride a wave with a religion kite in your hands.The RELIGION MKV is the end result of 11 years of non stop testing and development in the most diverse wave conditions in the world, with all rider levels. The first thing you’ll notice when you are using a Religion, is its quick turning and stabilty in the air. This is a feature that identifies, first hand, a basic concept of a good start for a real wave kite. The 3 Strut configuration has been introduced by us with the first Religion MKI and since then, it represents the key design base of any ideal wave kite. 3 struts means: lighter weight, stronger construction, faster turning kite.The new RELIGION MKV also features an all new leading edge arch design:
Basically a cutaway C-SHAPE arch design, with a short bridle. This new, compact leading edge design makes the kite even more stable and faster in the turn, creating an unbeatable combination of smooth profile, progressive power release and a very balanced, self adjusting behaviour in the air.Its natural drifting ability and huge depower, make it the perfect kite to ride waves without moving the kite, and using the wave speed to ride in “perfect world “ conditions. In onshore conditions the turning speed, stability and superquick recall ability even when the side lines are not under tension make it an unbeatable wave machine, allowing you to ride waves anywhere, anytime.A great direct bar feedback combined with ultimate turning speed, make the new Religion MKV a great kite for strapless freestyling, with great jumping ability and control while in the air. Program: RacingTo get a racing engine to work to 100% of its potential you need lots of design time, protos to test and tune and then once you have the final best kite in your hands it’s time to set your watch and GPS and spend endless amount of time in the water before a race. This is what we do every season, prototyping and testing, and I must say that never like this year I have seen the testing team more dedicated to make sure you have an unbeatable kite for the new racing season.In order to maximize the efficiency of the profile we have reduced even further the diameter of each strut to be adapted to the new flatter foil shape compared to the previous years’ version. This is also the reason why we have used a single inflating valve on each strut and avoided the use of the one pump system to make sure to be able to use an even higher inflating pressure on each strut otherwise impossible on such a narrow diameter design. Higher pressure on each strut means a stiffer strut that in combination with a new flatter profile and new bridle design has allowed to improve the wind window penetration of the kite and further improve the upwind performance. Stability of the profile has also allowed an easier kite to control in your hands, making each kite size less phisycal, allowing you to concentrate only on the race strategy and have spare body power to use when needed. The leading edge design has also been changed to a more segmented curve composed of more panels, allowing to have a better detailed control of the shape of the leading edge itself in conjunction with the canopy. This new leading edge design, combined to a flatter profile and a 5 reduced diameter high pressure struts will bring you as fast as you can on the downwind course. The improved agility of the kite and the fantastic power stroke every time you move your bar will get you even deeper and faster downwind , leaving your opponent in the back. All these characteristics created for a pure blooded racing kite, make it also for a fantastic light wind machine for twintips or K-free riders when the wind is marginal and using kites from 19 to 11 sqmts , while the 9 and the 7 can also be used for psyco big air addicted riders . There is no higher jumping kites in our range if you want to beat your record. Our production AddictionMIV kite size 7, has also been one of the fastest kite in the 2013 speed event in Namibia with 53.04 knots, holding the 5th place in the kite speed world rankings of all times.
